During my tenure at Blinn College I had the pleasure of mentoring these "distinguished gentlemen." I am proud of the small role that I played in their development.
Today I had the honor and pleasure of meeting and listening to actress, April Hernandez-Castillo (Dexter, Freedom Writers, Blue Blood) tell her story of overcoming domestic violence. Truth be told, you never know what someone is experiencing - so be an advocate and support for others when you can.
Two of our St. Philip's College students were honored at the board meeting earlier this week. (Far right) Percival Bragg - Student of the Month and Damon Lake - Historical Black College and Univesity (HBCU) White House All-Star. Dr. Adena Loston is the president of St. Philip's College (next to me).
Thank you to EVERYONE who attended my going away party the other day. In a short amount of time we accomplished some great things for our students. I am grateful to have served with you all!
It was such a pleasure working with Kristi Wood-Turner and Lisa Tignor today! Shared ways in which our universities are working to advance West Virginia through our respective student community involvement programs. Community service should be an integral part of our students' academic experience.
