What does it mean to lead well—and help others discover what is possible?
In this episode of Discovering Your Mission with Dr. Mordecai, Dr. Mordecai Brownlee welcomes Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski III, President Emeritus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, for a conversation about humility, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to helping others succeed.
Drawing on 30 years as UMBC’s president, Dr. Hrabowski shares why leaders must keep learning, acknowledge mistakes, and make difficult decisions grounded in mission. He also challenges higher education to take greater responsibility for connecting students with mentors, meaningful careers, and opportunities beyond graduation.
His personal mission offers a powerful invitation to anyone seeking to make a difference: “Do your best, care for people, keep the authenticity, and never, never, never give up.”
