Today and this past weekend, I stood in places made sacred by sacrifice.
At both the Colorado Freedom Memorial and Fort Logan National Cemetery, I had the profound honor of remembering the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation and our freedom.
At the Colorado Freedom Memorial, I shared the story of a fallen soldier whose courage represents the very best of America. At Fort Logan National Cemetery, I was humbled to deliver keynote remarks honoring generations of heroes who never made it home, but whose sacrifice continues to shape the freedoms we enjoy each day.
Memorial Day is not simply about remembrance. It is about responsibility. Responsibility to live worthy of the sacrifices made on our behalf. Responsibility to lead with gratitude. Responsibility to serve something greater than ourselves.
As an Honorary Commander for Buckley Space Force Base Delta 2, I carry a deep appreciation for those who wear the uniform today and for the families who serve alongside them. Their commitment reminds us that freedom has always come at a cost.
May we never forget the fallen.
May we never take liberty for granted.
And may we always honor sacrifice with purposeful living and humble service.
Freedom is not free.
